Section 1.
"I understand the ordinary risks of taking lessons such as minor scrapes, bumps, etc."
I understand that participation in music, art, acting, tutoring, movement, creative technology, and hands-on educational activities may involve ordinary risks, including minor cuts, scrapes, bumps, slips, sensory discomfort, frustration, allergic reactions, or irritation from materials. I assume those ordinary risks and understand that the school will make reasonable efforts to provide age-appropriate, ability-appropriate, and safety-conscious activities.
I understand that staff may modify, pause, or stop an activity if they believe it is unsafe or not appropriate for the student at that time.
I understand that the school may contact the parent, guardian, conservator, service coordinator, or emergency contact if the student needs support beyond what staff can safely provide in the program setting.
I understand The Bakersfield School of Art & Music is an educational arts program and is not a medical, clinical, behavioral therapy, or childcare facility.
Section 2.
"If something dangerous happens, you can call 911"
In the event of illness, injury, medical emergency, or safety concern, I authorize The Bakersfield School of Art & Music staff to contact me, contact the listed emergency contacts, and call 911 or emergency medical services if needed.
I understand that staff do not provide medical treatment beyond basic emergency response and contacting appropriate emergency services unless otherwise specifically trained and authorized.
Section 3.

Activities may include use of:
• Musical instruments
• Art supplies
• Paint, markers, pencils, charcoal, pastels, and other drawing materials
• Glue, paper, cardboard, fabric, and mixed-media materials
